An inclusive SEND school in Sunderland is seeking a Teaching Assistant with a flair for creativity – whether it’s art, music, drama, or storytelling. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your creative talents to support children with additional needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and learning challenges.
Delivering engaging, hands-on activities that support communication and expression
Using creative methods to help pupils access learning in a sensory-friendly way
Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups to build confidence and social skills
Helping with classroom routines, displays, and resource preparation
Collaborating with teachers to create a calm, inspiring learning space
Has a background or strong interest in the creative arts
Understands the importance of self-expression for SEND pupils
Is nurturing, imaginative and flexible in their approach
Has experience (or a willingness to learn) working with SEND students
Brings positivity and patience to every interaction

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
