Job Title: Creative SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: North Tyneside
Start Date: ASAP / September 2025
Daily Rate: £83 – £95
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

An inclusive SEND school across North Tyneside is seeking a Teaching Assistant with a passion for creative arts—whether in art, music, drama, or storytelling. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your creative skills to support children with additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and learning challenges.

Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, hands-on activities that support communication and self-expression

  • Use creative, sensory-friendly methods to help pupils access the curriculum

  • Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to develop confidence and social skills

  • Assist with classroom routines, displays, and resource preparation

  • Collaborate with teachers to create a calm, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment

  • Understands the vital role of self-expression for SEND pupils

  • Is nurturing, imaginative, and adaptable in their approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
