An inclusive SEND school across North Tyneside is seeking a Teaching Assistant with a passion for creative arts—whether in art, music, drama, or storytelling. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your creative skills to support children with additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and learning challenges.
Deliver engaging, hands-on activities that support communication and self-expression
Use creative, sensory-friendly methods to help pupils access the curriculum
Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to develop confidence and social skills
Assist with classroom routines, displays, and resource preparation
Collaborate with teachers to create a calm, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment
Has a background or strong interest in the creative arts
Understands the vital role of self-expression for SEND pupils
Is nurturing, imaginative, and adaptable in their approach
Has experience or willingness to learn about supporting SEND learners
Brings positivity, patience, and enthusiasm to every interaction

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
