iMap Centre Limited is seeking a SEN English Teacher to deliver creative, personalised English lessons for secondary students aged 11–19 with autism and additional needs. You will work with therapists, staff and families to help students build confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

The role involves small-group teaching, curriculum adaptation, and collaboration across the school to support academic, social, and emotional growth.

Formación

• Experience teaching English to children or young people with SEND, ideally in a secondary or SEN setting.
• Understanding of the English National Curriculum and adapting content for diverse needs.
• Experience supporting students with autism and additional needs.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs and EHCP targets.
• Confident user of IT as a work tool.
• QTS/NQT or equivalent, or Level 3 Teaching Award in English or a related subject.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver high-quality English teaching to small groups of students with autism and other learning difficulties, with curriculum alignment.
• Implement strategies to raise achievement and support pupils to make progress against EHCP targets.
• Safeguarding and protecting pupils at all times.
• Raise attendance, attainment, and achievement through engaging teaching approaches.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning, independence, and wellbeing.
• Develop pupils’ literacy, communication, and social skills through individualised methods.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through a child-centred approach.
• Lead and contribute to annual reviews, reports, and parent meetings.
• Contribute to wider school life, including enrichment activities and educational visits.
