Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking passionate individuals from creative backgrounds to support a primary special needs school. You will use art, music and hands-on activities to boost engagement and help pupils access the curriculum with confidence.

No prior school experience is required as on-site training and ongoing support are provided. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, delivering a pupil-centred approach under the guidance of the class teacher.

Responsibilities

• Support a small class of 6–8 pupils with a range of needs including speech and language difficulties, mild autism, physical disabilities and learning challenges.
• Provide 1:1 support and small-group assistance throughout the day.
• Use creative skills during lessons such as art, music, cooking, sensory play and creative literacy/numeracy.
• Help deliver a tailored, pupil-centred curriculum.
• Encourage pupils to learn through play, expression, and hands-on activities.
• Work closely with the class teacher and follow personalised learning plans.

Protocol Education is looking for passionate and creative individuals from backgrounds such as art, music, drama, performing arts, or any other creative field to join a wonderfully supportive primary special needs school.

This school believes that creativity opens doors for children with additional needs. They are seeking teaching assistants who can use their artistic or creative strengths to boost engagement, adapt learning in imaginative ways, and help children access the curriculum more confidently.

No prior school experience? That’s absolutely fine!
If you are enthusiastic about education, eager to learn, and comfortable working with children with special needs, the school will provideon‑site training and continuous support.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting a small class of 6–8 pupils with a range of special educational needs including speech & language difficulties, mild autism, physical disabilities, and learning challenges.
• Providing 1:1 support and small-group assistance throughout the school day.
• Using your creative skills during lessons such as art, music, cooking, sensory play, and creative literacy/numeracy.
• Helping deliver a tailored, pupil‑centred curriculum.
• Encouraging pupils to learn through play, expression, and hands‑on activities.
• Working closely with the class teacher and following personalised learning plans.
