Job summary

A progressive service provider in Kirkham is seeking a Creative Practitioner to support Young People in developing essential life skills while promoting their emotional wellbeing. The ideal candidate will possess strong engagement skills, a desire to work alone and as part of a team, and a minimum Level 4 in English and Maths. CREATIVE PRACTITIONER - Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner


This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and progressive
service and help us maintain our high standards of practice. We are looking for
someone who is a team player, excellent communicator, and positive role model.
You will help in the development and implementation of policies and practices
of the service.


The ideal candidate will have a great understanding of
safeguarding. We acknowledge our duty of care to safeguard and promote the
welfare of all our young people and are committed to ensuring our safeguarding
practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies
with our best practice.


There are a wide variety of issues that young people in and
leaving care are affected by and as a Creative Practitioner, you will support
our Young People, who live semi-independently within their own homes, to
develop and strengthen their daily living skills in preparation for leaving
local authority care. You will be working on a 1:1 basis as part of a wider
team and offer practical assistance and/or emotional support in areas such as:




Domestic tasks ie
cooking, cleaning, shopping

Education and/or
training

Seeking employment

Tenancy support

Safeguarding

Attending
appointment

Finances

Building confidence

Emotional wellbeing

Family contact

Encouraging
positive behaviours

Training
STANDARD & LEVEL

The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.


Personalised programme

Your B&FC apprenticeship is made up of several different elements and each one reflects your individual abilities and career goals. Our expert tutors and assessors have relevant industry experience and will support you to achieve all your goals.


Off-the-job training

Developing your skills at work is called on-the-job training, 20% of your apprenticeship (equal to one full day a week) will be ‘off-the-job’. This might include attending College, tackling projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or training for your job.



Stacks of support

Assessment mostly takes place in the workplace. When you start, you will be allocated a skills coach, who will visit you at least once a month to guide and support you and help you to plan for your future. We will also provide you with specialist support for your English and maths and for any additional needs that you make us aware of.



Qualifications required
Level 4 a minimum of English and maths grades A*- C (9-4) (or equivalent) are
desirable OR willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 2 are a requirement
to have or to achieve before EPA Gateway.
