Job summary

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea invites applications for Casual Play Worker to support disabled children and their families in our community centres. You will run engaging play activities, promote confidence and independence, and provide essential respite with warmth and dignity.

Based at the St Quintin Disabled Children’s Centre and other local sites, you will work sessional hours, including school holidays and occasional Saturdays, delivering safe, fun experiences for children aged 5

Qualifications

• Experience in a special educational needs setting, school or childcare environment is ideal.
• Willingness to undertake personal care with warmth and respect.
• Excellent communication skills with children, parents and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and think on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fun, creative play activities tailored for children aged 5 to 18 with SEND.
• Work one-to-one or in small groups using tailored communication tools.
• Assist on minibus outings and support family events.
• Collaborate with parents and multi-agency professionals to maintain a safe environment.
