Job Title: Creative Marketing Manager

Location: Fully remote (UK based)

We’re a fast-growing, UK-based direct-to-consumer (DTC) hair care brand, on a mission to empower women to embrace their natural wavy hair.

With a strong digital foundation, we’re now entering our next phase of growth - moving beyond performance marketing to build organic brand awareness across digital, retail, and cultural touchpoints.

The Role

We’re looking for a Creative Marketing Manager who lives and breathes brand storytelling. Your mission is to help Merwave break through the noise — driving cultural relevance, organic discovery, and emotional connection.

You’ll lead the creation and execution of campaigns across digital, social, PR, and retail, bringing sharp creative direction and brand consistency to everything we put into the world - without outsourcing every decision.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand & Creative Direction

  • Evolve and maintain the visual and verbal identity of the brand across all channels.
  • Own the seasonal and evergreen brand calendar, defining campaign concepts and themes.
  • Lead the art direction and execution of content shoots (photo, video, product), from briefing to production to post.

Marketing Campaigns

  • Plan and execute awareness-driving brand campaigns across digital, retail, PR, and social.
  • Partner with the performance team to develop cross-functional campaigns that balance brand and commercial goals.
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and propose creative optimisations.

Content & Social Media

  • Own the content strategy for Instagram, TikTok, FB, and emerging platforms - from concept to execution.
  • Collaborate with external creators and freelancers to generate consistent, high-quality assets.
  • Identify and jump on cultural moments, social trends, and viral formats to keep Merwave relevant and visible in everyday conversations.
  • Owned media: create compelling email content that drives loyalty and sales.
  • Build and manage relationships with influencers, tastemakers/key figures, and press, that amplify our message and put Merwave in front of new, relevant audiences.
  • Plan and execute influencer seeding, collaborations, and branded events.
  • Coordinate PR calendar with a hands-on approach.
  • Realise product placements/editorial listings at relevant magazines and other medias.

Brand Partnerships

  • Build and manage relationships with other brands, companies or key opinion leaders that will reach new audiences and create new brand fans.
  • Ensure a balanced business effect: making friends & money.
  • Set-up frequent lead-gen campaigns, working with other inspiring brands.
  • Work together with salons or other business partners to bring out the brand in creative ways.

Retail & Trade Marketing

  • Translate brand assets into high-impact retail and trade marketing materials - including POS displays, visual merchandising and sell-in decks.
  • Work with sales team to ensure brand consistency across all B2B and in-store executions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years experience in brand, creative, and marketing roles within beauty, wellness, fashion, or lifestyle.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced DtC e-commerce environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and execute campaigns across social, digital, print, and experiential.
  • Strong creative instincts and a good eye for visual identity and content production.
  • Experience managing photo/video shoots and guiding post-production (even better if you can use Adobe Suite/Canva).
  • Experience working cross-functionally with performance, retail, and product teams.
  • Hands-on with content - not overly reliant on agencies or external production.
  • Passion for beauty, trends, and culture with an understanding of Gen Z and millennial consumer behaviour.

  • Conceptually strong but also get your hands dirty making things happen.
  • Collaborative, inspiring, and confident in leading creative discussions.
  • Detail-obsessed and delivery-driven, but flexible in fast-moving environments.
  • Taking ownership and will not rest until the assets are present in the right media and start delivering results.
