About Fussy

Hey good smelling! We’re Fussy… about everything in our mission to banish single-use plastic from your bathroom and this includes the way we look, sound, and show up. We believe building a brand people love starts with unforgettable creative.

Having experienced exceptional growth over the past four years, we’re now looking for a super-talented Creative Lead to build and lead our in-house creative function from the ground up. This is a important new role, sitting at the intersection of brand, design, and performance, where you'll oversee everything from thumb-stopping paid media to beautifully crafted product shoots and packaging.

You’ll initially report to our Founder/CEO and work closely with our Brand, Growth and Paid Media teams to ensure Fussy’s creative output is not only stunning, but also scalable, strategic, and effective.

What you’ll be doing

Lead Our Creative Function

  • Build and lead our in-house creative team of designers, videographers, and content creators.
  • Drive campaign development from visual concept through to execution across all channels ie. paid social, CRM, organic social, web, packaging, retail, and more.

Produce Beautiful, Performance-Driven Creative

  • Partner with the Growth team to craft high-performing, scroll-stopping paid social ads and content at scale.
  • Create a wide range of assets, including stills, videos, motion graphics, and social media content.
  • Develop templates, playbooks, and creative systems that allow us to scale efficiently from briefing to post-launch.
  • Concept and direct in-house shoots, overseeing casting, styling, art direction, and production.

Lead Creative Direction

  • Collaborate with the Founder and Head of Brand to evolve and safeguard our visual identity and storytelling.
  • Champion design excellence, consistency, and on-brand creative direction across all touchpoints.
Collaborate & Inspire
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams (Brand, Growth, Product, NPD) and external partners (photographers, editors, production studios).
  • Inspire, lead, and mentor your team, fostering a culture of craft, curiosity, and fussiness!

Who you are

  • Current Creative Lead looking for a new challenge or an experienced Senior Designer/Art Director looking for your next big leadership role

  • Obsessed with detail, craft and design systems but also thrive in a fast-moving, performance-minded environment

  • Proven at delivering high-volume, high-quality creative across a variety of channels (paid, organic, packaging, product, etc.)

  • Comfortable directing video and photo shoots both scrappy and polished

  • Someone with excellent taste, a deep understanding of branding, and the ability to push boundaries while staying on-brand

  • An empowering team leader who’s excited to coach and build a team

  • Bonus: you’ve worked at a high-growth, DTC, lifestyle or FMCG brand with experience of producing paid media content at scale

This isn't the role for you if...

  • You prefer working solo, this role is hands-on but highly collaborative

  • You want to purely create without being involved in strategy and systems

  • You don’t like working in fast-paced, changeable environments (this is start-up life, after all)

What we offer

  • A salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working with Tuesdays and Thursdays in our East London office
