Job Summary

Opportunity for a dynamic and innovative Creative Facilitator to support the delivery of a range of projects, plays, and training programmes within a vibrant arts charity dedicated to transforming young lives through theatre.

Job Description

At Peer, we're dedicated to transforming lives through the power of theatre. Founded in 2006, Peer Productions is an award-winning youth arts charity specialising in combining high quality arts practice with peer education.

We are looking for a Creative Facilitator to support the delivery of inclusive, engaging, and artistically ambitious work across the charity’s theatre training programmes and productions. The role involves leading practical workshops, rehearsals, and performances for young people, including those with learning disabilities, and contributing to the creative development and production of touring plays.

Location & Terms

Location: Woking town centre, Surrey

Terms: 0.6 (3 days per week), fixed term September 2025 – July 2026

Salary: £16,800 pro rata (equals £28,000 FTE)

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience facilitating creative workshops in theatre or performing arts
  • Experience working inclusively with young people and/or adults, particularly those with learning disabilities or additional needs
  • Confidence in leading and adapting sessions for various abilities and learning styles
  • Strong creative skills in directing, movement, devising, filmmaking, music, or stage management
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices and inclusive arts approaches

Desirable:

  • Experience touring or supporting touring theatre
  • Experience developing plays for young audiences
  • Experience teaching accredited qualifications
  • Experience working in or preparing young people for drama school
  • Experience designing educational resources
  • Experience using Canva or similar software
  • Experience in technical theatre
  • A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
Job Responsibilities

Training Delivery:

  • Plan and deliver inspiring, accessible theatre workshops for young adults, including neurodivergent or learning-disabled participants
  • Promote an inclusive environment, adapting content and communication styles as needed
  • Support delivery of accredited qualifications (Levels 1 – 4)
  • Mentor learners, providing advice and guidance for drama school applications

Creative Project Facilitation:

  • Lead participatory workshops on site, in the community, and in schools

Touring Plays:

  • Take on roles such as Director, Assistant Director, Movement/Musical Director, Designer, or Production Manager
  • Understudy or perform in productions as required

Safeguarding and Pastoral Support:

  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all participants
