Job summary

NBCUniversal UK Resort seeks an experienced art director to lead the creation and execution of creative content and guest experiences for assigned projects. You will establish the story, collaborate with IP holders, and direct deliverables to meet creative and operational objectives.

You will work with the Show Producer and project team to drive design across all phases, present materials, and help identify resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Theatre, Art, Film, or Architecture preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in art direction or production design and field experience based on Universal Creative standards; designing experience-based entertainment for world-class theme parks or related industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads and directs effort to conceive, develop and define all creative aspects of assigned project that affect guest experience; often explores multiple options to arrive at best direction.
• Oversees and directs execution of project elements to ensure guest experience intent and overall quality.
• Acts as 'vision-keeper' for the project team; communicates and inspires to maintain creative intent across the team.
• Collaborates with Show Producer to maintain desired creative intent and drive design through all project phases.
• Creates and presents project materials to advocate and communicate project concept, content, and status.
• Identifies and procures talent and resources necessary to complete the project with the Show Producer.
• Acts as project liaison with internal and external partners, licensors, and IP owners.

Job Description

For Universal United Kingdom Resort (UUKR), responsible for the creation and/or development and execution of creative content, direction, quality, and overall guest experience for assigned project(s).

This includes establishing the creative “story”, collaboration with the IP holder, and directing project deliverables, process and resources to establish and define the project’s creative intent. Collaborates with the Art Director, ShowProducer,and project team to develop and direct creative and design intent to meet project creative, business, technical, and operational objectives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads and directs effort to conceive, develop and define all creative aspects of assignedprojectthat affect guest experience. This often includes leading and encouraging early efforts to creatively explore multiple optionsin order toarrive at best project direction.
• Oversees and directs the execution of all applicable project elements to ensure guest experience intent and overall quality.
• Acts as “vision-keeper” for the project team. Communicates, inspires, andmaintainsproject intent among allteam-members. Drives the story for the project and evolves as necessary tomaintainthe creative intent and deliver the intended experience.
• Collaborates with Show Producer tomaintainthe desired creative intent. Responsible for driving the creative design through all phases of the project.
• Creates and presents project materials to internal and external audiences to advocate and communicate projectconcept,content,and status.
• Works with the Show Producer toidentifyandprocuretalent and resources necessary to complete the project.
• Acts as project liaison as needed with internal and external partners, licensors, and intellectual property owners.
• Understand and activelyparticipatein Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDXpolicy, procedures,training,and team member involvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
