Job description

This website is operated, hosted and managed by Williams Lea Limited, 3 Savannah Way, Leeds LS10 1AB, United Kingdom.

Salary: £29,000 per annum, plus company benefits

Contract: Full time, permanent

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week worked Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Work model: Hybrid; this will be discussed in more detail at interview stage

Purpose of role

The Creative Designer plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, on-brand design solutions across various print and digital formats. Beyond executing briefs accurately and efficiently, the designer is expected to contribute creatively, proactively suggest improvements, and uphold the highest standards of design and production. Working closely with the Team Lead or Account Manager, the role demands a deep understanding of brand guidelines, strong technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, and a meticulous approach to pre-press and studio processes. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player who can manage deadlines, maintain consistency across deliverables, and add strategic value through design thinking and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute design work in line with project briefs, brand guidelines, and timelines
  • Ensure all deliverables undergo thorough pre-press checks and are error-free before release
  • Follow established studio workflows and design best practices in all daily tasks
  • Manage your own workload effectively with minimal supervision
  • Identify and recommend ways to improve design processes and output
  • Develop a strong understanding of client brands, ensuring consistent application across materials
  • Proactively challenge off-brand creative, both internally and externally, where appropriate
  • Suggest proactive, value-adding design solutions for clients

Personal attributes

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Strong understanding of working with templates, style guides, and multi-format brand collateral
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of typography, layout, colour, and visual hierarchy
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding of marketing and advertising principles
  • Knowledge of pre-press, print production, and pre-media processes is a plus
  • Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative team player with a solutions-oriented mindset
