Job summary

Star Academies seeks a Deputy Director of Learning - Creativity (Design Technology Specialist) to lead and develop the Design Technology department. The role focuses on raising achievement and disseminating effective teaching strategies across the school.

The post requires a degree-level qualification with QTS, the ability to teach GCSE, and strong coaching skills to motivate colleagues toward targets and sustained high attainment.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
• Ability to teach to GCSE standard.

• Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment.
• Experience of innovation and creativity to engage and progress learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing development plans for department staff with clear annual targets.
• Develop and disseminate strategies for outstanding teaching and learning to raise subject and pupil achievement.
• Sustain attainment by embedding innovative assessment for learning tools.
• Manage introduction of new/revised curricula.
• Plan and deliver enrichment programmes outside school hours to support learning.
