Job summary

White Rose Education, a respected UK education publisher, is bringing its publishing design in house and seeks a senior, hands-on Creative Design Lead to help define the look and feel of our resources. You will own templates, layout and artwork for print and digital resources, and work between Halifax and Leeds as the department grows.

This on-site role offers the chance to design systems, manage calendars and lead other designers as the publishing function expands, with a clear path to senior

Qualifications

• Senior design experience in high-volume publishing environments.
• Expert use of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop with master pages and long documents.
• Portfolio showing template and system work and adherence to publication calendars.

Responsibilities

• Design and lay out schemes of learning and digital resources.
• Build and maintain master templates, grids and asset libraries.
• Own print-ready artwork and pre-press, liaising with printers.
• Brief and art direct freelance illustrators and designers.
• Work with editors to meet fixed publishing calendar.
