Job summary

The Welsh Refugee Council in Cardiff is seeking a Design and Communications Officer to join our 35-hour week team. You’ll craft engaging content across digital channels, design campaigns and reports, and help tell sanctuary seekers’ stories with clarity and impact.

You’ll manage our visual identity, support media enquiries, write for websites and newsletters, and contribute to public engagement activities while ensuring accessibility and brand consistency across Wales.

Qualifications

• Experience in design and communications across digital and print.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative storytelling.
• Ability to write for multiple audiences, including media briefs.
• Commitment to accessibility and brand consistency.

Responsibilities

• Design eye-catching graphics for social media, campaigns and organisational communications.
• Produce infographics and visual content that explain complex issues clearly.
• Maintain our visual identity and ensure all materials follow our brand guidelines.
• Plan, create and publish content across social media channels.
• Manage our social media calendar and schedule content.
• Draft press releases, media statements and reactive communications.
• Write and update website content, news stories and blogs.
• Support campaigns, events and public engagement activities.
• Capture photography and video where appropriate and share stories responsibly.
