It is our aim that this project creates a lasting legacy that celebrates Newcastle’s older voices and connects generations through storytelling and film, changing the narrative around ageing.

This role will involve co-creating a legacy book that will share rich heritage, stories, and lived experience of older people in Newcastle while connecting generations, as a celebration of place.

The Creative Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Officer and Elders Council Members to edit and prepare the book for publishing and organise a book launch.

Alongside the book, a film is being produced by a local film company. The Creative Coordinator will assist with the film script to ensure alignment with the project’s vision.

  • Assist with self-publishing on Amazon, including formatting and publication management
  • Collaborate with the film company by assisting with film script development

  • Strong creative writing experience essential, with skills in editing and workshop facilitation
  • Experience working with older people and intergenerational groups is essential
