Creative Content Officer
Are you passionate about creating visually engaging content that tells a story and drives organisational impact? We are recruiting two Creative Content Officers (one specialising in design, the other specialising in videography and photography). Responsibilities
- Produce high‑quality, brand‑consistent creative content for use across our digital platforms.
- Support campaigns and internal communications by developing innovative visual assets that engage diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to deliver creative solutions, often working at pace to meet tight deadlines.
- Help build our in‑house creative capability, reducing reliance on external agencies and ensuring our content reflects our unique voice and values.
- Plan, shoot on location, edit, and create visually engaging content that supports the Crown Prosecution Service’s strategic priorities and meets the needs of diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Communications Directorate, Area Communication Managers and external partners to deliver creative content for priority projects and campaigns.
- Conduct interviews and work with colleagues at all levels to create authentic, people‑focused content.
- Act as a brand ambassador, providing expert advice on branding and creative content, and ensuring all materials produced are inclusive and accessible.
- Develop and maintain the organisation’s digital content archive.
- Draw on knowledge of emerging trends in digital and social media and apply this knowledge to content ideas, being alert to emerging issues that might impact or benefit the work.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years of employment and/or academic history.
- Experience creating innovative, engaging video content for wide‑ranging audiences.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.).
- Experience working with and interviewing colleagues or stakeholders at all levels on camera.
- Proficient use of a range of camera equipment to film and edit videos, including B‑roll, subtitles and graphic elements.
- Excellent written skills: ability to write scripts, interview questions and use plain English for digital channels.
- Experience creating captioned/subtitled content and strong understanding of accessible video best practice.
- Experience maintaining and archiving a video/photographic content library in an accessible manner.
- Competencies: Ideas – design and develop engaging, targeted digital communications (video, graphics, multimedia assets) suitable for use across social media, websites and digital platforms.
- Implementation – deliver digital communications, write for digital channels, apply corporate branding and style guidelines, ensure compliance with relevant policies, legislation and best practice (e.g., accessibility, propriety, social media use).
- Ability to use analytics and digital metrics to measure success and inform improvements.
- Age 16 or older when starting, and willingness to work at least 40 % of contracted hours on site (court, office or official workplace) as required.
- Will travel within England and Wales; may work from Scotland or Northern Ireland with permission if the role is hybrid.
- Eligible nationalities: UK, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth, EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and their family members with settled or pre‑settled status, Turkish nationals and certain family members, individuals with limited or indefinite leave to remain – as per current civil service policy.
- Must secure a Disclosure and Barring Service check; existing CPS staff have no need for a new check.
Remuneration
Starting salary: £37,615. After an 18‑month development period you may progress to the spot rate – subject to performance. The CPS contributes £10,897 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
