- £30,062 per year

- Burntwood/Lichfield, Staffordshire
Lichfield Garrick Theatre has just had its most successful year on record, with over 130k people engaging with our programme of drama, dance, music, comedy, family shows and cinema. Following significant recent renewal within our Board and the development of the business under our Artistic Director & Chief Executive, Daniel Buckroyd, the charity is gearing up to invest in ambitious plans for the future. These include further capital development, expanding the number and range of shows on offer to attract an even bigger, more diverse audience to the venue, and significantly stepping up the theatres community engagement.
Creative Burntwood is an ambitious three-year outreach project to increase the number of residents engaging with creative and cultural opportunities in the town of Burntwood. The town is a close geographical neighbour of the city of Lichfield and sits within Lichfield District but has traditionally been overlooked in terms of creative investment and opportunity. Thanks to significant funding from Arts Council Englands Place Partnerships Fund, and a partnership between Lichfield Garrick Theatre, Burntwood Town Council and Lichfield District Council, we are thrilled to move forward with our plans to deliver a wide range of activity in the town over the next three years.
Consultation to date with residents and community groups in Burntwood has demonstrated an appetite for participatory music activities, professional presented shows in community venues, CPD for primary teachers, an early years creative project, and the development of our existing Burntwood Youth Theatre. However, our intention has always been that the overall programme must remain flexible so that it can respond to the developing needs of residents and participants, influenced by a community steering group. Our strategic aim is to build the community/voluntary capacity that will mean the project can have a life beyond this initial three-year funded phase.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee and co-ordinate all aspects of this wide-ranging project. Working with Garrick Theatre colleagues, liaising with stakeholders and key delivery partners, booking artists and facilitators to deliver of workshops in community venues, working with professional artists and companies to bring show to the town and recruiting and supporting volunteers, the one thing we can promise is that no two days will be the same. You will be a flexible, positive team player, who thrives on working in the arts in community settings. You will work closely with the Director of Development & Partnerships and Community Producer at the Garrick, as well as our technical, marketing and programming teams.
