Job summary

Harris Boys' Academy East Dulwich is seeking an Art Technician to provide classroom and administrative support to the Subject Lead for Art. The role includes involvement in trips, workshops and artist residencies, and engaging with department growth opportunities.

The actual salary for this role will be £27,511 per annum (40 weeks per year, 37.5 hours per week). This post offers a rewards and benefits package including a loyalty bonus and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Provide classroom and administrative support to the Art department lead.
• Assist with trips, workshops and artist residencies as needed.
• Proficiency with cameras and image editing using Photoshop.

Responsibilities

• Provide a quality technical service to the Art department and to pupils and staff.
• Ensure equipment is prepared to the teacher's specifications.
• Effective care and maintenance of all Art equipment.
• Organisation, preparation, repair, cleaning, transport and collection of equipment and materials.
• Ensuring materials are replenished in teaching area.
• Assisting and supporting in practical lessons, and participating in enrichment activities as requested.
• Understanding the Schemes of Work & syllabi of Art to prepare for practical lessons.
• Preparation of Stock Orders.
• Monitoring stock levels and expenditure.
• General Departmental administration.
• Participation in INSET activities.
• Ensuring Health and Safety regulations are followed, including disposal of hazardous waste.
• Organising storage and record keeping of equipment.
• Carrying out safety checks and reporting faults.
• Supporting Digital Photography, Textiles and Ceramics requirements.
• Using Photoshop for imagery capture and editing.
