Job Summary

We seek to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated Creative Arts Technician to join us.

Job Description

St Catherine's is a school very proud of its friendly atmosphere, excellent pastoral care and strong academic reputation. Our School Mission captures the spirit of our happy, confident and inclusive community.

We seek to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated Creative Arts Technician who will collaborate closely with teaching staff to enhance and expand the departments' work and enrich pupil experiences by supporting the practical and technical aspects of the Creative Arts curriculum. To be successful, you will be proactive with strong creative skills and, ideally, have experience in a Creative Arts specialism.

Currently, the curriculum across Years 3-13 includes Art and Food & Nutrition, and Textiles is introduced in Year 9. GCSE girls can choose to take Fine Art and Design, Photography, Food & Nutrition or Textiles, and there is a strong uptake in these creative subjects. Girls can study Fine Art, Photography or Textiles at A Level, and Graphic Design is also sometimes offered. There are options to develop and adjust this programme.

This is a part-time, permanent contract, with flexibility in hours (term-time only). The salary, which will depend on qualifications and experience, is competitive and above the National Minimum Wage.

Closing date: 11am on 17 June 2025

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so early application is recommended, and the School reserves the right to appoint prior to the closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Appointment will be subject to a number of safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check as part of Keeping Children Safe in Education, and once in post, receive further training and updates.

St Catherine's is a Catholic girls' school set beside the beautiful river Thames in Twickenham. We have over 100 years' experience in independent education.
