Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a talented Art Teacher for a Peterborough secondary school to start January 2027. You will teach across the secondary age range, plan and deliver engaging art lessons, and help pupils explore materials and styles.

The ideal candidate will have QTS/QTLS or equivalent, strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management, and a commitment to safeguarding. ECTs are welcome, and the role can be full-time or part-time.

Qualifications

Qualified or experienced Art/Design teacher with UK teaching qualification.
Strong Art subject knowledge.
Experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
Ability to inspire pupils and foster creativity.
Positive, reliable and professional approach.
DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
References covering safeguarding period.

Responsibilities

Teaching Art across the secondary age range.
Planning and delivering creative, engaging and inclusive Art lessons.
Supporting pupils to explore different materials, techniques and artistic styles.
Developing pupils' practical skills, creativity and confidence.
Assessing work and providing constructive feedback.
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
Contributing positively to the Art department and wider school community.
