Job summary

William Howard School is seeking an Art and Photography Technician to support the Art Department, preparing materials, maintaining equipment and assisting with lessons, exhibitions and displays.

The role involves working with teaching staff to ensure safe, well-organised spaces, manage stock and handle administrative tasks to help students develop creativity and achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in art/photography education environment is desirable.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills are essential.
• Proficient with ICT and a range of specialist equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, equipment and resources for Art and Photography lessons.
• Maintain specialist equipment, tools and learning spaces to be safe and organised.
• Support students during practical activities under teaching staff guidance.
• Assist with displays, exhibitions and presentation of student work.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering materials and equipment.
• Support organisation of coursework, portfolios and examination materials.
• Undertake administrative tasks relevant to the department.
• Promote safe working practices in line with school procedures.
