Job summary

HORIBA MIRA is seeking two Crash Prep Technicians to join the Nuneaton Crash Laboratory team. You will hands-on prepare vehicles for crash testing, fit instrumentation and support data collection as part of a skilled, collaborative group.

Experience in a vehicle workshop or automotive setting is ideal, with NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3, strong practical skills and attention to detail. Shift work is involved.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle workshop or automotive environment.
• Qualification in Automotive or Engineering discipline (NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3).
• Strong practical skills and interest in vehicle technology.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Experience of crash testing, vehicle safety systems, instrumentation, data acquisition or test facilities would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for crash testing activities.
• Fit instrumentation, sensors, on-board cameras and data acquisition equipment.
• Carry out vehicle preparation activities including trim removal, restraint system removal/refit, weighing and ballasting.
• Perform sensor health checks and support test data acquisition activities.
• Support fabrication activities including cutting, grinding and drilling.
• Follow quality, safety and testing procedures in line with laboratory standards.
• Support equipment checks, maintenance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Responsible for test execution
