Job summary

HORIBA MIRA Ltd. is seeking a Technician for the Crash Laboratory in Nuneaton on a 12-month contract (Inside IR35). This hands-on role supports the preparation, setup and execution of vehicle crash tests in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

You will work 39 hours per week with an hourly rate of £17–£19 depending on skills and experience, with shift allowances from week 13. A full driving licence is required, and interviews are planned for October at the MIRA Technology Institute.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle workshop or automotive environment.
• Qualification in Automotive or Engineering discipline (NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3).
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to work.
• Ability to adapt to changing environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the crash laboratory and equipment for testing activities.
• Support test set-up, execution and post-test activities.
• Operate and support specialist crash test equipment and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure safe, efficient test delivery.
• Carry out laboratory maintenance, equipment checks and housekeeping.
• Support quality, health & safety initiatives across the facility.
• Follow procedures and safe systems of work.
