Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced Crane Supervisor for a marine construction project in Newhaven, East Sussex. Start ASAP on a 6-month contract; rate £25 per hour.

You will supervise crane operations, ensure safety and compliance with lift plans, coordinate crane operators, banksmen and lifting teams, and maintain site records.

Candidates should have CSCS/CPCS/NPORS or equivalent, and experience with 100-ton+ cranes and hazardous marine environments.

Qualifications

• Experience as Crane Supervisor on construction, marine or heavy-lifting projects.
• Experience supervising 100-ton+ crane operations.
• Relevant Crane Supervisor / Appointed Person qualifications or lifting supervision certifications.
• Good communication and organisation skills.
• CSCS/CPCS/NPORS or equivalent certification where applicable.

Location: Newhaven, East Sussex

Contract: 6 months

Rate: £25.00 per hour

Crane: 130-ton crane

Start: Immediate / ASAP

We are currently looking for an experienced Crane Supervisor to join a marine construction project in Newhaven.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise crane and lifting operations on a busy marine construction project.
• Ensure lifting operations are carried out safely and in accordance with approved lift plans.
• Coordinate crane operators, banksmen/signallers and other lifting personnel.
• Ensure lifting equipment and accessories are suitable and properly inspected.
• Liaise with site management, lifting teams and other contractors.
• Monitor exclusion zones and maintain safe working practices.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety requirements.
• Report any issues or unsafe practices to site management.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Crane Supervisor on construction, marine or heavy lifting projects.
• Experience supervising large crane operations, ideally 100-ton+ capacity.
• Relevant Crane Supervisor / Appointed Person or lifting supervision qualifications as required for the role.
• Strong understanding of lifting operations, lift plans and site safety.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy site team.
• Relevant CSCS/CPCS/NPORS or equivalent certification where applicable.
