Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Mobile Crane Operator for a site-based, full-time position in Barrow-in-Furness. This local role carries no travel allowance and requires certification covering mobile crane operations.

You will safely lift and position loads, work in confined spaces when required, and follow health and safety rules and company procedures. A minimum of 3 years' crane experience with NPORS/ECITB certification is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid certification from an accredited body (e.g. NPORS, ECITB or equivalent)


• Must hold certification covering Mobile crane operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely lift, move, and position loads in line with operational requirements


• Work within confined spaces where required


• Maintain safe working practices at all times, adhering to Health & Safety regulations and company procedures


• Interpret job specifications to meet client and project requirements


• Select and prepare appropriate materials, consumables, and equipment


• Carry out cleaning tasks and apply temporary protection solutions as needed


• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required standards and specifications

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a crane operator


• Valid, in-date certifications from an accredited body (e.g. NPORS, ECITB)


• Proven experience operating mobile cranes, supported by relevant training certification

Additional Information:

• Role will initially follow a shift pattern; flexibility required for night shifts


• Candidates moving to night shifts must first complete one week on day shifts for risk assessment purposes


• Must be willing to obtain full SC clearance prior to starting (estimated clearance timeframe: 6-8 weeks)
