SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking an experienced Crane Maintenance Electrician to join our growing team in York, PA. Primary responsibilities include installing and upgrading electrical components and electronic circuitry, repairing plant equipment, performing preventative maintenance, conducting equipment inspections, and other related duties.

Our technicians work at various facilities throughout central PA. Normal work hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with an on-call week.

Successful candidates should possess good industrial electrical and mechanical skills, and be proficient in troubleshooting, updating, and repairing equipment.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Utilizes basic hand tools
  • Installs and upgrades electrical components
  • Performs repairs and inspections of equipment
  • Installs variable frequency drives and programming
  • Operates radio remote crane controls
  • Performs basic welding and cutting torch use as necessary
  • Understands and learns equipment operation through training, observation, and reading manuals
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relations
  • Communicates effectively with other personnel
  • Completes daily paperwork accurately and enters data into the company database
  • Ensures all work complies with OSHA regulations and safety procedures
  • Adheres to company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • 2-3 years of electrical and overhead crane experience
  • 2-3 years of plant maintenance experience in a heavy industry environment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Extensive understanding of machine manuals
  • Experience with VFD and 480V 3-phase electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights
  • Willing to learn OSHA safety regulations
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting, and standing for long periods
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
  • Basic computer skills
