Crane Fitter Position

Our client is a leading provider of crane hire and lifting solutions across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Crane Fitter to join their Gray's depot. The ideal candidate will have experience in Mechanical Fitting, hands-on crane experience, and be skilled in working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance of Grays and possess a manual driving licence.

Position Overview

1. Conduct regular servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various cranes including mobile, tower, and crawler types.
2. Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions.
3. Perform routine checks and scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
4. Coordinate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
5. Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
6. Maintain accurate records of work and parts used.
7. Provide technical support and advice to team members and clients as needed.
8. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated with industry standards and technological advancements.
9. Occasionally travel to sites for breakdown repairs.

Position Requirements

1. NVQ Level 3 in Plant/Heavy Vehicles Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience as a Crane Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or similar role.
3. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
4. Familiarity with health and safety standards.
5. Ability to work independently and in a team.
6. Valid UK driving licence.
7. CPCS Card Holder or equivalent (desirable).
8. Welding and fabrication skills (desirable).
9. Reside within a commutable distance of Grays.

Remuneration

• 31 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
