An opportunity has arisen for a Craftsperson (Fitting) based in Worcester.
This role involves undertaking maintenance of plant and switchgear up to 66kV.
Qualifications: Candidates must have Grade A*-C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level qualifications in both subjects. Evidence of these qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
Note: The successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are completed.
You will be responsible for the annual maintenance of plant and switchgear up to 66kV within the Coventry & Warwickshire area. Additional duties include programming and monitoring immediate work colleagues, switching up to 66kV, and other tasks relevant to the Craftsperson role.
The ideal candidate will have fitting experience. Consideration will be given to applicants who do not yet possess all the skills but demonstrate the confidence and ability to reach required standards with appropriate training.
If not already attained, the successful candidate will need to study for the City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering and complete TAR, which includes daily diary entries, tasks, and reports.
You must be able to work independently and as part of a small team, making on-the-spot decisions and working under tight deadlines. Flexibility is essential, as duties may include other tasks to meet team objectives. You should also be mobile within the area, as standby duties may be required.
Roles involving working at height and the use of Personal Fall Protection Equipment have weight restrictions for individuals.
