An opportunity is available for a Craftsperson Fitter based at our Leicester depot.
In this role, you will undertake maintenance of plant and switchgear up to 66kV.
Candidates are required to have Grade A*-C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level qualification in both subjects.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
You will be responsible for the annual maintenance of plant and switchgear up to 66kV within the Leicester/Kettering area. Additionally, you will oversee programming and monitoring of work colleagues and switching operations up to 66kV, among other duties relevant to the Craftsperson role.
The successful applicant should reside in the Leicester area and ideally have fitting experience. Consideration will be given to applicants who are eager to develop the necessary skills through training.
If not already attained, the candidate will need to study for the City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering and complete TAR, including daily diary entries, tasks, and reports.
You must be able to work independently and as part of a small team, make quick decisions, and meet tight deadlines. Flexibility is essential, including the ability to undertake standby duties and work at height using Personal Fall Protection Equipment, with weight restrictions in place.
