Job summary

Thrive Oldham are recruiting for Craft Gardeners for our well established client in the Leicestershire area across three sites. Applicants must be able to drive. You will maintain horticultural and landscape features, prepare sports surfaces, operate hand and mechanical equipment, drive a tractor, and apply chemicals under training.

You will also assist parks users and complete routine paperwork. Hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am-3.30pm and Friday 7.30am-3.00pm, with a half-hour lunch

Qualifications

• Experience in horticulture and landscaping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain horticultural features on green infrastructure, Parks, Housing and Highways land.
• Prepare and maintain sports features, including artificial surfaces.
• Operate and maintain hand and mechanical equipment used in maintenance.
• Drive and operate a tractor.
• Prepare and apply chemicals such as herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.
• Provide advice and support to customers using the facilities.
• Complete routine paperwork.
• Report issues to the Team Leader.
• Carry out miscellaneous duties associated with the role.

Horticulture & Landscaping

• Maintain horticultural features on green infrastructure, Parks, Housing and Highways land
• Prepare and maintain sports features, including artificial surfaces
• Maintain hard landscape features, including buildings
• Develop new hard and soft landscaping features
• Operate and maintain hand and mechanical specialist equipment used in the maintenance of features.
• Drive and operate a tractor
• Prepare and apply chemicals e.g. herbicides, fungicides, insecticides etc
• Keep sites clean and tidy
• Provide advice and support to customers using the facilities
• Complete routine paperwork
• Report any issues identified to the Team Leader
• Carry out other miscellaneous duties associated with the role
