Job summary

AWE is recruiting a Craft Fitter to carry out mechanical and electrical handling operations in accordance with procedures and safety requirements. You will ensure processes run to plan, perform inspections, and prepare tooling and materials for the job on site near Coulport, north of Helensburgh.

The role requires flexibility around shift patterns, with overtime rates and potential night shifts. AWE offers a strong benefits package, including a market-leading pension and extensive employee

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
• Competence in mechanical fitting or electrical work.
• Craft-related apprenticeship or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical handling operations to meet outputs.
• Read and control processes with no deviations from procedures.
• Prepare tools, equipment and materials for the process.
• Use a range of hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
• Carry out x-ray processing, inspection and maintenance tasks.
• Load/unload trailers and operate lifting/crane equipment.

Skills

Manufacturing environment experience

Mechanical fitting or electrical work

Crane operation experience (desirable)

Education

Craft-related apprenticeship or SVQ level 3 / ONC / City & Guilds
