Vacancy Short Description:

We are seeking to employ and train 4 craft apprentices. You will receive broad-based training covering many aspects of Aerospace Manufacture, specialising as a craft apprentice. You can become a Skilled Fitter / Welder.

Qualifications Required:

Essential – 5 GCSEs at 9 – 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Vacancy Full Description:

We are seeking to employ and train 1 craft apprentices.

You will receive broad-based training covering many aspects of Aerospace Manufacture, specialising as either a craft apprentice. Following your apprenticeship, your first appointment will be one of the following roles:

Skilled Fitter or skilled Welder

When onsite apprentices will work alongside trained staff to enhance their skills, putting into practise what they have learnt at the College.

This can range from:

Shadowing skilled fitters / welders and manufacturing engineers

Welding

Performance acceptance testing

Continuous improvements activities

Using:

Heat Treatment and Chemical Processing capability

Components produced from a variety of different materials

Apprentices will be required to comply with all ethical, environmental and safety regulations. While onsite apprentices will rotate during year 2 throughout departments to ensure competency in all required skill sets.

You can become a Subject Matter Expert in Skilled Fitter, Welder or Sheet Metal Worker on completion of the apprenticeship

Training to be provided:

• Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at In-Comm Training, Telford.

• A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3)

• In house training in line with your requirements.
