Location: Sunnyside House, High Donaghadee Road, Bangor, BT20 4SE

Salary: £13.80 per hour + £1.00 per hour enhancement for 2 years

Hours: 15 hours per week, shift: 8pm - 11pm. Suitable for someone wishing to supplement income.

Responsible to: Service Manager

Main Function:

Assist in managing the Home effectively and efficiently under the supervision of the Service Manager, maintaining professional standards as required by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, within the Christian ethos of Sunnyside House.

In the absence of the Service Manager or Deputy Manager, exercise responsibility for all aspects of Home operation and liaise with callers including relatives and professionals.

Sunnyside House is one of 6 homes for older people run by the Council for Social Witness, accommodating 45 residents with diverse needs.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

1. Care Responsibilities

a) Assist with care planning and implementation.

b) Monitor and evaluate care to ensure quality standards.

c) Assist residents with personal care, respecting privacy and dignity.

d) Promote independence and activity.

e) Accompany residents to appointments or for walks.

f) Administer medicines following policies.

g) Organize and record creative activities.

h) Ensure health, safety, and well-being of all in the Home.

2. Leadership and Training

a) Supervise staff as directed.

b) Promote team building.

c) Participate in QCF assessments.

d) Ensure effective handovers.

e) Lead or support prayer sessions.

f) Follow regulations and promote best practices.

g) Support staff training and professional development.

h) Implement quality assurance measures.

3. Administration

a) Handle inquiries and administrative tasks.

b) Maintain confidentiality and proper records.

4. Additional Duties

a) Lead daily devotions.

b) Liaise with clergy on spiritual programs.

c) Participate in meetings and development programs.

d) Perform other duties as required.

This role involves weekend and on-call duties, including nights.
