As a CQA Inspector, you'll play a key role in ensuring high-quality construction and sustainable environment outcomes for landfill infrastructure, including construction of new cells, capping works using clay liners, geosynthetic materials, and other related infrastructure.

What you'll do

Oversee and verify construction works for landfill infrastructure, including new cells, capping works, clay liners, geosynthetic materials, and associated infrastructure (leachate/gas systems).

Conduct inspections, supervision, and reporting in line with EA guidance.

Review and approve materials and workmanship against CQA Plans and project specifications.

Prepare accurate documentation to support CQA plans and validation reports.

Mentor and collaborate with CQA Engineers and Managers to uphold quality standards.

Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, project managers, and regulators.

Identify, mitigate, and take ownership of project risks.

Manage stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.

Work primarily on-site across the UK, with occasional weekend work.

About you

We're seeking candidates with a solid grounding in construction, civil engineering, or environmental science, ideally with Environment Agency-approved CQA qualifications (or willing to obtain them).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • OND/ONC or higher in construction, civil engineering, environmental science, or similar
  • Environment Agency-approved CQA Inspector preferred
  • Full driving licence and proficiency with Microsoft Office & IT systems

Route A:

  • ≥2 years supervision experience in landfill earthworks/clay liner construction
  • ≥1 month close-proximity training with an experienced CQA inspector

Route B:

  • OND/ONC or higher in relevant discipline
  • ≥1 month close-proximity training with an experienced CQA inspector

Landfill Engineering Elements:

  • Geosynthetics: Demonstrated experience, plus training & mentoring
  • Infrastructure Works: Experience in leachate, gas, or monitoring systems, plus training & mentoring
