Job description

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a CP Site Supervisor on a 6 month rolling contract based in Norfolk.

Role Summary

The project is an extension of an existing 400kV AIS substation tripling the size of the existing site to allow customer connections onto the network. The candidate shall assist the site manager and supervise the works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information to the site manager. Complete all necessary internal reporting to a high standard and lead by example when interfacing with external parties such as clients, project stakeholders, sub-consultants/subcontractors, enforcement agencies, local planning authorities & statutory bodies. The individual should be experienced in delivering all aspects of M&E works including supervising through the commissioning and fencing works. The candidate would ideally be happy to work towards gaining their SR163 authorisation to provide short term site cover when required.

Job Duties

  1. Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site.
  2. Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed.
  3. Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.
  4. Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner.
  5. Provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels.
  6. Maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively.
  7. Perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team.
  8. Comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions.
  9. Support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded.
  10. Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.
  11. Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.
  12. Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings.
  13. Assist with the implementation of Safe Systems of Work including issuing Permits to Dig and Hot Works Permits.
  14. Set others to work and monitor throughout the task/project.

Requirements
  1. Full UK driving licence.
  2. National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8.
  3. IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS.
  4. CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport.
  5. Minimum 5 years' experience in the T&D industry.
  6. Previous experience at a supervisory level.

Desirable:
  1. HNC / HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Formal Electrical / Mechanical training.
  3. Impressed Voltage training.
  4. Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience.
  5. IOSH environmental or equivalent.
  6. HSG47.
