Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting Cover Supervisors for flexible, day-to-day temporary cover in Bristol's secondary schools. You will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher and help keep students engaged with their learning.

This role offers 1 to 5 days per week, with consultant support 24/7, CPD opportunities through the My-Progression channel, and market-leading pay. Overseas-trained teachers are welcome to gain UK classroom experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people in childcare, education, coaching, or similar.
• Overseas teaching experience welcomed for UK classroom experience.
• Confidence leading groups of secondary-aged students and delivering pre-planned work.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and school staff.
• Proactive, adaptable approach and genuine interest in developing a career within education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher and keep students engaged.
• Manage classroom behaviour and support learning during cover.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with supportive secondary schools across Bristol, including areas such as Bedminster, Bishopsworth and Whitchurch who are looking to appoint confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors. These schools provide positive and welcoming learning environments where staff can develop their classroom experience, build relationships with students and gain valuable experience within UK education.

We are looking for Cover Supervisors for flexible, day-to-day temporary cover, with the freedom to work anywhere from 1 to 5 days per week depending on your availability. As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, manage classroom behaviour and keep students engaged with their learning, with opportunities for successful candidates to progress into longer-term school roles.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people, including within childcare, education, coaching or a similar setting
• Overseas teaching experience is welcomed for candidates looking to gain UK classroom experience
• Confidence leading groups of secondary-aged students and delivering pre-planned work
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and school staff
• A proactive, adaptable approach and genuine interest in developing a career within education
