Cover Teacher
Location: Fareham, Hampshire
Salary: £93 - £140 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / September 2025 start
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (Part-time available for the right candidate)

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for varied classroom experiences, this role offers an exciting opportunity to grow and develop.

As a Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across different subjects and year groups. You’ll step into classrooms with confidence, ensuring students stay engaged and on task, and making a positive contribution to their educational experience.

Cover Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality lessons that align with the school's curriculum.
• Support students in a range of academic abilities, including those with additional needs.
• Keep students engaged and motivated through creative and effective teaching strategies.
• Enforce classroom rules and policies, ensuring a respectful and productive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods and approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Provide constructive feedback on student performance.
• Ensure the well-being and safety of all students under your care.
• Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to maintain consistency across classes.
• Take part in school activities or events when required.
• Ensure that safeguarding policies are adhered to at all times.

Requirements for a Cover Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ECT, or relevant teaching experience.
• Prior experience working as a Cover Teacher in secondary schools.
• SEN experience is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
• Availability to work flexibly (ideally full-time, but part-time options are available)
• A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new check.
