Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd. is seeking a Cover Supervisor for daily supply in Bury St Edmunds and surrounding areas to support secondary schools with short-term cover needs.

You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared plans, and maintain a positive learning environment while adhering to safeguarding standards and school policies.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils in a school or youth setting.
• Confident in managing classroom behaviour and engaging learners.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and able to work across a range of subjects.
• A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Cover Supervisor – Daily supply, starting as soon as possible

These flexible opportunities are ideal for Cover Supervisors who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll be working on a daily supply basis in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas, supporting secondary schools with short-term cover needs.

Duties as Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure pupils remain on task
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
