Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools
Location: Across Swindon
Salary:Dependent on Experience - everying done through PAYE
Contract: Flexible / Full-Time / Part-Time

Got the confidence to lead a classroom, but not a qualified teacher? We’ve got just the role.

We’re on the lookout for energetic, adaptable, and reliable Cover Supervisors to step into secondary classrooms across Swindon. You’ll be taking charge of pre-planned lessons when teachers are absent—keeping the learning ticking over and the students on track.

You don’t need QTS or a teaching qualification, but you do need presence, patience, and the ability to keep a room full of teenagers engaged. We can also provideFREE TRAININGon the role of a Cover Supervisor and how to be successful in the role.

Ideal background? Think:
  • Teaching Assistant

  • Youth Work

  • Sports Coaching

  • Tutoring

  • Staff or Peer Training

  • Camp Counselling

If you’ve worked with young people and know how to hold your own in a busy room, you’re halfway there. This is not an exclusive list, all experience has transferable skills that translate over into the classroom and with the training we can provide, you can feel confident and supported moving into the role.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects (no marking or planning needed)

  • Delivering set work and keeping students on task

  • Managing behaviour in line with school policies

  • Reporting back to teaching staff at the end of the day

What we’re looking for:
  • Experience working with young people in any capacity

  • Resilience, reliability, and a sense of humour (vital)

  • Confident classroom management—even without formal training

  • A DBS on the Update Service (or happy to apply for one)
