Overview

Title: Cover Supervisor

Grade: Grade D: Actual salary: £20,540 - £23,480 after adjustment for hours and weeks. (Full time equivalent salary: £27,254 - £31,022 p.a.)

Location: The Phoenix Collegiate, Clarkes Lane, West Bromwich B71 2BX

Hours: 31.25 hours per week, term time + 1 week

Responsibilities
  • The role is to oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, actively supporting the progress of students and recognising that every lesson is an opportunity to learn. This will include implementing work programmes, assisting students in relevant activities and providing feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement.
  • The classes you supervise will change on a daily basis and you will be required to promote good behaviour, in line with school policy.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, but also demonstrate initiative and the ability to work alone.
  • Applicants should have experience of working to support children’s learning gained in a relevant environment and demonstrate an understanding of areas of learning, for instance, literacy, numeracy, science etc.
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS before commencement, together with a Social Media check, in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • The ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement (Immigration Act 2016 Part 7).
