Job summary

Weston College Group is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our team at the Loxton Campus in Weston-super-Mare. The role is full-time, term-time only (37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year) with duties including supervising classes in the absence of teaching staff and delivering pre-set work.

Candidates should hold a degree-level qualification, be highly organised and capable of engaging learners with an empathetic and inclusive approach.

Job description

Are you looking for a term-time only role? Do you have experience teaching at Level 2 or above? If so, our Cover Supervisor position might be the role for you!

Weston College is looking for a Cover Supervisor to join our team on a full-time, term-time only basis (37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year), based at our Loxton Campus in Weston-super-Mare.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their usual teaching staff. You will be delivering pre-set work, which means there will be limited lesson planning or preparation involved in the role. Your main focus will be ensuring that all students remain engaged and focused on their work.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be working on a term-time only basis (38 weeks per year). During your non-working times, there are no expectations to complete any admin work such as preparation or marking, all aspects of the role will be undertaken during your 38 weeks per year.

If you are not required for cover, then you will provide 121, small group or in class support where needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be flexible and adaptable as it is highly unlikely that any two days will be the same!

You will also need to have a degree-level qualification, have excellent organisational skills and show an empathetic and inclusive approach to learners.

Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
