Cover Supervisor / Teaching Assistant (SEN)
Location: Birmingham
Duration: Full-time, ongoing
Salary: £95 – £130 per day

The Role:
A well-regarded school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with complex needs. The role involves working with pupils who may be non-verbal, display challenging behaviour, and use alternative communication methods such as PECS and communication books.

This full-time position runs until the end of the academic year, and the school is looking for someone who can provide consistency and commitment. In return, the school offers a welcoming environment and access to training and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Relevant SEN experience or a qualified Teaching Assistant background
  • Experience working with complex ASC and behavioural needs
  • Familiarity with non-verbal communication tools such as PECS (preferred)
  • Level 1 Safeguarding Certificate
  • Up-to-date DBS (or willingness to apply)
  • Valid photo ID (passport or driving licence)
  • Recent, school-based references
