Quantum Scholars are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Southampton to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor for a September 2025 start. This is a full-time position offered on a long-term supply basis, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

This will be a perfect role for someone aspiring to be a teacher or just wanting to gain classroom experience as a Cover Supervisor before undertaking your teacher training!

Role Responsibilities:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

Supervise and manage a classroom during the short-term absence of the assigned teacher

*

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils remain on task

*

Promote a positive learning environment and ensure school policies are followed

*

Manage student behaviour effectively and respond to incidents in line with the school's behaviour policy

*

Report back on student progress and any issues to relevant teaching staff

*

Support students with their learning, encouraging engagement and participation

*

Take part in training and staff development opportunities as appropriate

Candidate Requirements:

We are looking for individuals who have:

A strong presence in the classroom with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting

*

A calm and professional approach to managing behaviour and building rapport

*

The ability to adapt quickly and take initiative in a dynamic school environment

* Available to start in September 2025

* Must have a Right to Work in the UK - Sponsorship is NOT available.
