Job summary

Lift Kingswood is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support learning when teachers are absent. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons, keep the class on task, and help students stay focused across subjects, creating a calm, productive environment. You don’t need to be a qualified teacher, but GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4+ are required.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade 4 or above.
• A levels or a degree, or prior work with young people in a school or youth setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across the school in the absence of the teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task and follow the school's behaviour expectations.
• Manage the classroom environment to support positive behaviour and effective learning.
• Provide feedback to the relevant teacher about lesson progress, behaviour, or issues arising.
• Supervise students during non-class time when required (e.g., registration, breaks, exams).
• Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students.
• Assist with administrative tasks or learning support activities when cover is not required.
