Job description

About the Role
The Littlehampton Academy is recruiting to our team of highly skilled cover supervisors. The team is primarily deployed to cover short-term absences of the teaching staff but also provides a flexible resource elsewhere in the Academy.
Our cover supervisors are vital to the smooth running of the academy. When deployed to lessons, they are accountable for ensuring that students undertake the learning activity set by the subject teacher.
This post has been introduced to provide additional support to the PE team, so when not deployed to cover lessons (which could be outside PE), you will be based within the PE department, offering subject-specific support.
Comprehensive training, including shadowing members of the team, will ensure you are able to make a meaningful contribution to the work of the academy. The role also provides invaluable experience for those considering teaching as a profession.
The Littlehampton Academy is a large academy recently designated by Ofsted as "Good". Our core ethos supports the development of both staff and students and you will have opportunities to make significant contributions to our progress.
This permanent position is 35 hours per week Monday-Friday and is term time only plus 5 INSET Days (39 weeks per year). The initial rate of pay is the equivalent of £13.91 per hour, paid monthly over 12 months. The pay scale has five spinal points and increments are awarded in April. The actual starting salary is £22,092 per annum.
Please note the successful applicant will be required to undergo full safeguarding and vetting checks, including references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, and will be subject to a period of probation.
