Vision for Education is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Trainee Cover Supervisor programme. This is an exciting pathway into secondary education, offering fully funded training and hands-on experience in schools across the Plymouth area.

About The Role – Trainee Cover Supervisor

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and ensure students remain on task.
  • Record attendance accurately and report any safeguarding concerns.
  • Provide feedback to the regular teacher on the day’s activities.

This role is ideal for graduates or professionals from any background who want to gain school experience before applying for teacher training, or for those looking for a fulfilling role supporting young people without prior teaching experience.

Don’t worry – full training is provided!

You will complete our bespoke online and in-person Cover Supervisor Training Programme, designed to prepare you with everything you need to succeed in the role.

About The Schools

You will be placed in a variety of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Plymouth and the surrounding area. Schools range in size and ethos, but all share a commitment to student achievement and personal development. You'll have the opportunity to cover a wide range of subjects across Key Stages 3, 4 and occasionally KS5.
