  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students (11-16), ideally in a school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences.
  • Ensure students remain on task with their learning.
  • Implement school behaviour and safeguarding policies.
  • Record attendance and report absences appropriately.
  • Manage classroom behaviour calmly and effectively.
  • Liaise with teaching staff regarding cover work.
  • Encourage students to engage in tasks and participate in learning.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns to designated staff.
  • Support students in understanding the lesson content.
