Cover Supervisor September Start

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Contract: Ongoing/Long-Term
Daily Rate: £100 £115 per day (dependent on experience)

GSL Education Manchester is currently recruiting a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming and well-run secondary school in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience or continue their career in education.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent. You ll be supervising pre-set lessons across various subjects, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising whole-class lessons during teacher absence

  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment

  • Supporting students in completing tasks and staying on track

  • Reporting back to relevant staff on student progress and behaviour

  • Following school safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times

What We re Looking For:
  • Experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, coaching, or youth work)

  • Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills

  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work full-time

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting student development

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
