Cover Supervisor - Specialist Provision for Young Women (SEMH / SEND)

Role: Cover Supervisor • Key Stage: KS3/KS4 • Start Date: October 2025 • Location: Bedfordshire

Aspire People are working with a specialist provision in Bedfordshire that supports young women who are unable to attend mainstream school due to complex emotional and social needs. Many of these students have experienced a high level of disruption in their early lives, and as a result, may struggle to build trust and regulate their emotions. This setting offers a structured, supportive environment focused on helping each student re-engage with education at a pace that suits them. As a Cover Supervisor, you\'ll play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of learning and building positive, respectful relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and supervise small groups (max. 10 students).
• Maintain continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Support students\' engagement, behaviour, and emotional regulation within a trauma-informed framework.
• Build positive, respectful relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
• Work independently and as part of a teaching and support team to ensure smooth lesson delivery.
• Contribute to a calm, structured learning environment in a specialist provision setting.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience working with young people in an education setting.
• Able to confidently deliver pre-planned lessons and supervise small groups (max. 10 students).
• Resilient, calm, and consistent in managing behaviour.
• Skilled at building rapport while maintaining clear and professional boundaries.
• Proactive, reflective, and confident working independently and as part of a team.
• Driver, due to the rural nature of the setting (essential).
