Job description

Academics are currently looking for cover supervisors to work in a variety of schools in the Leeds and Wakefield areas. Cover supervisors play a vital role within schools and are required to carry out pre-planned lessons for teacher absences. The role of a cover supervisor is a great step for those who are aspiring to be teachers as well as recent graduates seeking to gain classroom experience.

Your main responsibilities as a cover supervisor will involve the following:

1. Creating a positive learning environment for students and helping them develop academically.
2. Supervising students' behaviour and referring to the school's behaviour management policy if required.
3. Demonstrating subject knowledge to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
4. Following the school's safeguarding policies to ensure a safe environment for students.

Qualities and attributes we are looking for in a cover supervisor:

1. Flexibility to cover multiple subjects and accommodate last-minute requirements.
2. Excellent communication skills and a passion for making an impact on students' lives.
3. Previous experience is preferred but not essential.
4. A university degree.
5. An enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
